Each day of the semester introduces a new poetic device for discussion, and students are assigned poems to read that highlight the effectiveness of each device. Intermediate Poetry A course centered around common poem "types." Students are assigned a type of poem (list, memory, epistolary, object, etc.) to write for each workshop session and are assigned poems to read that illustrate each particular poem type.
